After moving to Yellowknife from Ontario 24 years ago, Kerry worked as a journalist and started to compile a collection of oral history stories about ravens. After moving east to Iqaluit in 1998, Kerry continued to write for a living, as a journalist and then corporate communications. Tulugaq, the collection of raven oral history stories was published by Inhabit Media in 2013. Later this year, Inhabit Media will publish two more of Kerry’s stories, Sukaq and the Raven and Families. Both new children’s picture book titles are co-authored. When Kerry isn’t writing, she teaches children to cook at a program she developed called the Mamaqtuq Nanook Cooking Club at Nanook School in Apex, Nunavut. With a strong focus on literacy and volunteerism, Kerry spends every Friday afternoon with the students teaching them the basics of good nutrition and cooking. Kerry is also an avid gardener and a mother to a beautiful son, River.
